Blow, Baby, Blow
|
Depending on who you listen to, the economy is slowly improving or about to collapse; unemployment is about to go down or ready to explode; business is picking up or flat as a pancake. It seems like no one really knows what’s happening or when things will get better. As a business owner, it makes me crazy.
Unfortunately, most businesses are in the same boat … adrift and wondering where and when the economic winds will blow.
For smart businesses, this universal uncertainty is an opportunity to gain market share and solidify customer relationships. They know their customers (and prospects) are looking for answers and they are well-positioned to provide them.
I’m sure you’re wondering, “How did they obtain this invaluable knowledge?” “How do they know what their customers need?” The answer is simple … they asked them.
As a meeting and event producer who understands the value of face-to-face communication, I am amazed at the short-sighted approach many companies are taking to economic survival. Their strategy seems to be cut expenses and ride it out. Unfortunately, many of them are cutting indiscriminately, eliminating the very tools that would help them grow.
Want to know what your customers need? Why not hold a customer event and ask them. You may be the breeze they are looking for. |
