A Face to Face Meeting
|
There is no doubt about it we are becoming very adept at speaking to each other virtually. We can have online meetings, virtual trade shows and we can even talk to each other with our thumbs; however, I am a big fan of face to face meetings. My appreciation for such events was accentuated by a meeting I had with a very pleasant police officer in one of our local communities this morning. She noted that my car and I had gone through the intersection after the light had turned red. During our discussion I pointed out the lights on both sides of the street had been blocked by the two eighteen-wheelers that proceeded me through the intersection. Officer Erin (no last names to protect the parties in this story) considered my position and issued me a warning ticket. What if that intersection had been monitored by a camera and virtual policeman? I suppose once I received the ticket via email I could have whipped out my blackberry and texted the camera “Hey Dude, didn’t you see the two tractor-trailers blocking my view of the light?” LOL. My vote is for the face to face meetings. |
